On This Day: 2009

The following is the true, previously untold, story of what happened on this day in the history of black America.

Prior to Barack Obama assuming office, few people realised that the man they had elected to be the 44th President of the United States was actually African American. Yet less than a month after he was sworn in as President in 2009, Obama made what many believe to be the defining address of his two terms in office. He announced to America, and the world, that he was black.
Appearing on national television, Obama stirred the fears of the former Confederate states by telling them that a black man could indeed rise to the highest office in the United States of America, and there was nothing they could do about it. Fox News, the national news source for white supremacists and Republicans, appeared to have some technical difficulties during the President’s broadcast, with their seven-second delay kicking in, dropping the feed almost immediately. Fox presenters were then faced with the tremendous task of breaking the news to their thousands of viewers in a manner that would not result in a spate of gun-related suicides. It is still considered both their finest and most politically correct hour of television, with only one presenter using the word “nigger”.

This is satire and is not intended to offend anyone. If you believe this is in any way racist, please contact me on Twitter to discuss why you don’t agree with this post.
