On This Day: 1909

The following is the true, previously untold, story of what happened on this day in the history of black America.

The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) was founded by Moorfield Storey, Mary White Ovington and W. E. B. Du Bois in 1919. Largely comprised of white Jewish-Americans, the African-American civil rights organisation had a rocky identity at first, waiting almost seventy years before electing a black president.
The NAACP spent many of its early years fighting against segregation and for equal rights for all persons, though was rumoured to have also fought in the great martial arts tournament against Emperor Shao Khan.

This is satire and is not intended to offend anyone. If you believe this is in any way racist, please contact me on Twitter to discuss why you don’t agree with this post.
