The show notes were written on Dharawal land, we pay our respects to elders past, present, and emerging.
We acknowledge that sovereignty has never been ceded by the First Nations people of this land.

G’day voters, and welcome to the show notes for the fourth episode of 3 White Guys + Guest, a political podcast for a cynical nation.

The rate by Maxine Beneba Clarke, poet laureate for the Saturday Paper.

Our plus guest this week is journalist, anti-poverty activist and federal leader of the Affordable Housing Party, Andrew Potts.

As the fight to increase Newstart ramps up, we take a look at what is needed to protect welfare in Australia, and why it’s so necessary. Subjects for discussion include wage theft, wrestling, and windmills.

You can find the link to the podcast at the bottom of this page.

The starting salary for a federal MP or Senator is $211,000. They can also claim expenses, with an average total of $215,900 per politician.
The top 1% of income earners in Australia starts at $237,300.
We are ruled by the elites. The notion that earning $200K+ doesn’t put someone in the “top end of town” is how these rich fuckwits continue to suppress wages, keep unemployment stagnant for over a quarter of a century, and shut millions out of the property market (in 2017 the 226 federal politicians owned 524 properties, a number that doesn’t include properties kept in their partner’s name).
